Day 1. A New Beginning

First, a few words about the gameplay style I chose.

In the past, I would play a family at a time, and I hardly ever played more than two generations. As I discovered the cheats, I would stop the aging because I didn't like the thought of my Sims getting old or dying. Now I'm okay with it, even though it's still sad.
Then most of the time I would either build or maintain businesses (it's still one of my favourite parts).
It wasn't until I saw an LP series with the Sims 2 original neighbourhoods that I realised how fun it can be, and I think I'm addicted ever since then, haha.

First of all, I wanted to try rotational gameplay. It seems most simmers prefer to spend a few Sim days or even weeks with one household before moving on to another. Well, I found just one day was optimal for me. I pause a lot because I like to micromanage, and I prefer to read or something while my Sims sleep rather than speed through, so it takes some time to get through one day. Also, it's easier to keep track of, and everyone ages consistently. I love it. It does take a while the more families you play, but I'm patient.

So, the plan is to upload photos for each full rotation. They won't always go in the same order as sometimes I forget which is next (even when I started keeping notes later) or wanted to play another or had to skip for some reason. But most of the time the order is the same, starting with the Malfoys.
I played a few other Sims besides these, they were outside of this rotation but eventually joined it. Their stories will be uploaded separately until then.

I created two sub-neighborhoods, Godric's Hollow and Hogsmeade. At this point I have no proper view of the first because it's so empty yet, but you can look at this lonely Malfoy Manor on the hill.

Malfoy

The manor is an old download, I suppose I could choose any but since there was a Malfoy Manor specifically, why not. I had long wanted to have some Sims live in a huge house like that, and yes, I had to cheat, but Draco is canonically wealthy so I see nothing wrong with it.

Potter

Next I had Harry and Ginny move into their new home but I took few photos and none of them look good enough, so you'll see them on Day 2.

Luna and Ron on a temporary lot waiting to be moved into another, I actually don't remember why, maybe hadn't chosen a house yet... Ah, right, they didn't have enough money on their own.

Granger-Weasley

Sims can't have cats or dogs in dorms, so the first thing Hermione did after graduation was go and get Crookshanks ^_^

The Sims 2 fans might recognise this place. It's one of the starter homes. Honestly, I mainly used them in my childhood when there weren't that many, later I preferred to build my own, so I haven't tried many of the bin houses. There are, however, a few I find super cosy, and I look forward to trying them. I might build one on my own, too, but most of the time I simply extend small houses.

Lovegood

That dress was pretty but I thought this suits her better.

It's one of the apartments that came with the expansion, nothing too special.

Abbott and Chang

I had Hannah and Cho share a house for some time. It's also a starter home from the bin, I chose one that fits the Hogsmeade aesthetic.

You might have guessed by now that the main neighborhood I've been playing this in is Desiderata Valley.
